I have many hobbies.
It’s easy for me to zone out during meetings (remote). Especially when conversations are happening where in the moment my input isn’t needed.
It isn’t good because what could happen is you get a question or miss something very important.
What I do to stay focused and make it easy for me to both digest and remember conversations in a meeting is to take notes.
The notes would look like a transcript.
I will write the person’s name and summarize what they said.
This has helped me a ton.
Just the action itself keeps me focused.
I love typing on the keyboard so it makes me a bit fun for me.
I’m not gonna say you should do the same, but if you also tend to zone out during meetings, I recommend finding something similar that works for you.
Taking notes is indeed a game changer, sometimes I use just physicals booklets, or if not at hand I just use ColorNote mobile app.
I've started using pen and paper during meetings and then typing them out after, this keeps my eyes off a screen in the moment and allows me to think deeper and broader during the review.
