I struggled with building side projects in the past.
Sometimes I felt like they were too time-consuming. That there were other things I could do that'd benefit me even more.
In reality, building is the best way to learn.
Change your mindset.
Understand when you're struggling is when you're on the right path.
Struggling means growth. It means you're figuring things out.
That's why being confused is good. You're learning!
Don't overwhelm yourself!
You can begin by building mini-projects.
Don't worry about what other people think.
Focus on having fun. Also, getting things done will make you feel well.
My experience
I used to struggle with building side projects.
When I was learning Solid.js, I had difficulty deciding what to build.
I wasn't sure how long I'd spend building the thing. And I didn't want to spend too much time on a single project.
I did one mini-project each week.
It went well.
I got things done and was able to build with different libraries.
I had fun along the way too.
Don't be too hard on yourself.
Don't overwhelm yourself.
Weekly mini-projects are a fun ride!
Love the personal story element, Tiger! It's a great addition.
Thanks for sharing this :)
Could not agree more my friend! Struggling means that we are out of our comfort zone, and that's where the real growth happens.
